A few more pictures...

Everyone knows when you have a baby there is no shortage of pictures, especially when you have 3 cameras going. Here are a few more. Jack is doing well. He still is trying to figure out how to go to sleep without being held. (ok, maybe we are trying to figure that out, he doesn't seem to mind it.) He is a sweet baby and seems to be laid back other than that. The boys are so excited to have him here. Charlie is so much more into it this time than with Katie Beth last year. He is very gentle and loves to hold him. When he's holding Jack, if Jack starts to cry, Charlie yells, "He's breaking, come get him." Can you tell he's been told to be careful? Katie Beth is enjoying watching him, but is not interested in touching him. (Not a bad thing.) She hasn't even tried to steal his pacifier yet, which is surprising. Will remains a great big brother to the babies and is a HUGE helper to mommy and daddy.

Enjoy the pictures. Oh yeah, they should be here to pour the foundation for the shop tomorrow, I will post pictures if that really happens. (I've learned not to hold my breath when it comes to construction projects.)

Will holding Jack for the first time.

Charlie holds Jack. Notice my mom is showing Katie's whelps to me. She had a reaction to her antibiotic.

Our first family photo with all 6!

"Play that funky music white-boy!" (hearing screening)

Uh, what's wrong with this picture?

Baby Jack is HERE!!

He's finally here. Jack Wesley Beckham arrived April 23, 2008 at 12:49 PM. He weighed 8 pounds 3 ounces and was 20 inches long. My delivery went very well, he was out in only 2 pushes. I was able to have the same nurse that I did with Katie Beth and my doctor was there. One of my best friends, Crystal, there and my sister-in-law Jennifer came and photographed the big day. I even had a student in there to observe. The more the merrier!

I don't have all my pictures downloaded yet, but Jennifer, who is always on top of things, has a slide show on her blog. Click on the link to view it, but I will warn you, it is not for the weak stomached. Huge thanks to Jennifer for being there and taking the pictures for me. http://thestoneciphers.blogspot.com/

As soon as I get my pictures downloaded, I'll get them posted. (Hopefully tomorrow.) He is a really good baby, he sleeps a lot, which has been great. I think once he starts putting himself to sleep, which he did a few times today, I will only have to get up once at night to feed him. The boys love having him here and want to hold him. Katie hasn't really noticed him very much, but had a hard time sleeping with him in there crying. We are working on that.

Last appointment...

Today was my last OB visit. Hard to believe we are already at the end. I got to have another sonogram to estimate the fetal weight. We asked all the grandparents to come along since none of them had ever seen a sono before. My doctor was so gracious to point out different features and take a little extra time with us. We once again have confirmation that this is a boy. His weight is estimated at 8# 2 oz. right now. Of course, there is a margin of error, but she said that's usually pretty accurate. So if I were to go full term, we would be looking at a 9 1/2 to 10# baby. (I'm fine with delivering a week early.) I am still 2 cm, but the baby has actually moved up out of my pelvis and she couldn't reach it even if she tried to push him down.

So the short of it is, we are to be at the hospital at 6am, April 23. Unless the baby has moved down and settled into my pelvis, she will start pitocin, but not break my water. She said that typically, 4th babies come quickly once things get going. (It's the "get going" part that we'll have to wait and see.)

We finally got the nursery set up on Sunday. The movement of the furniture required rearranging in the boys room and our room. Thankfully Keith was off this week, so we have been busy working on all that. I still have to pack my bag and get the car seat down to wash it, but other than that, I think we are ready! This time next week, I hope to be holding Jack in my arms!

Pregnancy update...

I just got back from my OB appointment. I am 37 weeks +3 days, but when she measured, I am measuring 39 weeks. She wants to do another sonogram next week to confirm the baby's size, but she thinks he's already a strapping young man. She has set my induction date for April 23. We are to be there at 6am, GROAN!!! The good news of that is that my doctor will be there and I'm on the schedule for my favorite nurse, Shannon. (He was my nurse when Katie was born and was wonderful!)

Other than that, everything is still the same. Still dilated 2cm, 50% effaced and -3 station. (For some reason my babies hang on to my tonsils with their toes.) So, only 12 more days!

On another note, we signed a contract with a concrete company. They came yesterday and dropped off the rebar and some stakes. They should come back today to get everything ready for the forms. I'll post pictures when they are through. It's weird to think that after 3 1/2 years of waiting, this is finally going to happen. (Lord willing...)
